January Astrology Forecast 2022
WELCOME TO JANUARY, BEAUTIFUL SOUL! LET’S KICK OFF 2022, YEAH?
JANUARY IS A MONTH FOR GETTING RIDICULOUSLY CLEAR ON WHAT YOU TRULY VALUE AND WHAT ACTION STEPS ARE NEEDED TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS A REALITY. PLUTO IS VERY MUCH IN THE CONVERSATION SHOWING US WHAT WE KNOW LONGER NEED AND CAN ALLOW TO FALL AWAY AND EVERY PLANET THAT ENTERS CAPRICORN IS PRODDING US TO LOOK LONG TERM AT WHAT WILL GENUINELY MAKE US HAPPY.
THIS MONTH ASKS THE QUESTION
“WHAT DO YOU GENUINELY VALUE AND WANT TO SPEND YOUR LIFE DOING AND BEING? WHAT ACTIONABLE STEPS ARE THERE BETWEEN THE DREAM AND REALITY AND HOW DO YOU START TAKING THOSE NOW INSTEAD OF WAITING?”
HERE ARE SOME OF THIS MONTH’S MAJOR TRANSITS + THEMES TO KNOW:
JANUARY 9TH, 2022 – SUN CONJUNCT VENUS IN CAPRICORN
On January 9th, 2022 Sun is conjunct Venus in Capricorn. Venus officially begins her new 18 month cycle as we have a rebirth of the heart. This is a time to ask, especially with Venus still retrograde, “do my values truly align with who I am now and is that reflected in my external environment?”
This is a powerful time for taking stock of what is out of alignment (especially in regards to love, money, values, and finances) and setting the intention for the next 18 months to powerfully align us externally with what we desire. This is an ever repeating pattern in the universe to continually give us a fresh start in these areas and one of my personal favorites in astrology.
Look at where Capricorn is in your birth chart for a more clear picture of what specific area of life will be impacted the most by this.
JANUARY 14TH, 2022 – MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE IN AQUARIUS
On January 14th, 2022 Mercury goes retrograde at 10° Aquarius. Mercury is square Uranus, reminding us of the Saturn-Uranus square that set the tone for 2021 (restriction to freedom).
We might have important collective announcements and revelations connected to the Saturn-Uranus square. My “prediction” is this will have to do with the pandemic. Saturn will still be square Uranus in 2022 but not making the exact squares it was in 2021 and with Jupiter in Pisces in the mix we may start to see a light at the end of the tunnel eventually.
But, since Mercury is retrograde this will not be the final decision or discussion. Once it goes direct we may consider new angles or take into account things we did not before.
JANUARY 16TH, 2022 – SUN CONJUNCT PLUTO IN CAPRICORN
On January 16th, 2022 the Sun is conjunct Pluto at 26° Capricorn. This degree of Capricorn is getting a lot of action this year from the Venus-Pluto conjunctions to Mercury.
This energy invites us to surrender and let go anywhere we (our human “ego”) is not aligned with a higher Pluto truth. So this can feel like a big rebirth or letting go energy.
We’re being invited to change and transform at a core level. I recently had the download “return back to original source code” for 2022 and this transit mirrors that perfectly.
We might have insights about ourselves, who we really are, and the more we can surrender to whatever the truth is the thing we’ve been scared of changing or letting go of becomes our greatest ally and supporter.
JANUARY 17TH, 2022 – FULL MOON IN CANCER
On January 17th, 2022 we have a Full Moon at 27° Cancer. The Full Moon is opposite Pluto so again we get an echo of this need to change and transform, to die off and renew.
Cancer is an emotional water sign of nurturing, of self care and community care. Take this moon to be soft with yourself and nurture the parts of you that may be grieving with all of the Pluto influence the last few months.
JANUARY 18TH, 2022 – NORTH NODE ENTERS TAURUS, SOUTH NODE ENTERS SCORPIO
On January 18th, 2022 we have the big event! As a Taurus South Node I’ve only been talking about this for ages!
This is one of the most important shifts 2022 brings us from how we as a collective (but also individuals) have been functioning the last few years.
The nodes shift into Taurus for the North Node and Scorpio for the South Node and leave Gemini-Sagittarius where they have been since 2020.
This is a big change for the collective from a Gem-Sag focus on movement, travel, technology, laws, education into Taurus-Scorpio themes of possessions, money, values, finances, systems, and traditions.
We’ll continue to talk about this shift but I’m guessing it will majorly impact our social media, health care and relationship to the body, resources and the way we treat the planet, rising of the divine feminine, money and wealth and more as Uranus is also in Taurus magnifying a need to shake things up and change.
For a personal view look at where Taurus and Scorpio are in your chart to see how it will affect you. Many millennials will also experience their nodal opposition for the first time in our adult lives as we are called upon to step up as leaders with our Taurus South Node innate gifts and talents. Another portion are having their Nodal Return where they will be thrust into destiny in a way they haven’t since around 19 years old when the world looked very different.
JANUARY 18TH, 2022 – URANUS GOES DIRECT
On January 18th, 2022 Uranus goes direct at 10° Taurus, so will get an intensifying of shake up energy. Sudden announcements, changes, and revelations may come out to liberate us from places we’ve been stuck.
Since the North Node is now in Taurus this may be in regards to the collective path as a whole around themes like health and the body, money and finances, and the planet and our resources.
JANUARY 20TH, 2022 – SUN ENTERS AQUARIUS
Happy birthday Aquarius!! I know it’s been a more intense few years with so much energy in your sign so be sure to do something to celebrate you!
JANUARY 23RD, 2022 – SUN CONJUNCT MERCURY IN AQUARIUS
On January 23rd, 2022 Sun is conjunct Mercury at 3° Aquarius and a new Mercury cycle begins.
Sun-Mercury times are a great chance to start a new project and with the conjunction happening in Aquarius this may be something connected to progression, communication, technology, social media, friends and networks, and manifestation of hopes and wishes.
Pay attention to what comes through today as they will be an indicator of themes for the next 3 months.
JANUARY 24TH, 2022 – MARS ENTERS CAPRICORN
On January 24th, 2022 Mars leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn. This is a GREAT time to get really intentional about the action you are taking to achieve what you want.
Especially if you are in business, after a slower start to the month this is when you feel the rush of GO time to build something sustainable.
What’s interesting about this Mars time is that it will also be joining up with Pluto and Venus so expect it to power and fuel our desires in ways we haven’t experienced before.
I really like this transit a lot as it’s right before Venus goes direct too. So after all that reflection now we have a clearer sense of what comes next and the energy to make it happen.
JANUARY 26TH, 2022 – MERCURY RE-ENTERS CAPRICORN
On January 26th, 2022 Mercury retrograde re-enters Capricorn to finish what it started in December 2021.
Mercury is conjunct Pluto for 3 whole weeks so this is a major time of intense truths and revelations coming to the surface. Although I don’t think this should be feared at all—the truth will set us free.
JANUARY 29TH, 2022 – VENUS GOES DIRECT, MERCURY CONJUNCT PLUTO
Venus goes direct and on the same day, Mercury retrograde is conjunct Pluto at 26° Capricorn.
There’s that degree of 26 again. This may feel intense but again just remember that as Pluto sheds and uncovers truths more and more we are set free from limitations or blocks every step of the way.
Through February, March, and April we’ll see how this all plays out and why it’s happening this way.

THE KEY TO THIS MONTH IS LOOK BROADLY AT WHAT YOU WANT LONG TERM AND THEN BREAK IT DOWN INTO ACTIONABLE STEPS WHERE YOU CAN CONTROL THE OUTCOME AND SURRENDER TO WHERE YOU CAN’T. ENJOY!!
